A beautiful Friday evening

It was so nice last night we decided to take the kids fishing at my parents house. Kaitlyn is getting so big and has learned how to bait her own hook and cast her pole. Although the rest of the bystanders have to watch where she is swinging because a few times both Kasey and I almost got it with the hook on the way by. Granters was into fishing for the first few minutes. After his sissy caught two fish in a row he was done. He did find a cool lizard on Grandma and Grandpa's porch. It was dead. I thought at first it was a small toy because of the bright blue tail however it was real. After Grant played with it for a while he gave it to Daddy to use as bait for the trout. The lizard they decided was much better than good ole Patzke bait eggs. Kasey quickly caught a huge trout. Mojo went with us too. He was convinced that the bobber on the kids line was a ball for him to go fetch. Many times we had to get he kids to reel up really fast because Mojo was going to get their bobbers. It was such a nice evening. I am blessed with such an awesome family.

A teeny tiny egg

We found a teeny tiny egg tonight in the chicken coop. Kaitlyn said it was "cute!".

On the beach

We spent a few hours on the beach playing while waiting to pick up the crab pots. The kids had a blast digging in the sand. Even the "big kids" were digging in the sand(for butter clams of course!). I enjoyed the beach combing.

Making pottery...

On Tuesday the kids practiced on the wheel making pottery at one of the local pottery shops on the Island. They got to paint them with glaze the next day and we picked them up on Thursday.

San Juans 2007

The San Juans were wonderful last week. So nice to just get up and do not much of anything. The sunset view from the dock is one I love. A few mornings I was able to get up early while everone else was still asleep, and walk down to the dock, have a cup of coffee and watch Mojo play in the water. He quickly figured out that salt water didn't taste very good however loved fetching the seaweed and brining it to the beach. How wonderful it would be to live on the water. Kaitlyn learned how to ride her bike without training wheels! Wahoo!! We convinced her that falling on the grass while she was practicing was much easier than at home with the gravel. She took about a minute to figure the stopping and starting, and then she was a pro! It was so much fun to watch her grin ear to ear. Another wonderful milestone for a growing girl. Kaitlyn's friend Katie was there too. They spent most of the week hanging out. Granters had a good time just being a little boy. Some days he was still in his jammies at dinnertime and bare feet of course. He had so much fun with my cousin's boys, Austin and Ethan, and of course Cameron and Logan. We just enjoyed having no schedule and spending time as a family. Aunt Sue brought her grandkids, Austin and Ethan. Grandma Mary and Grandpa Jack camped next to us. The kids enjoyed going to visit them in the mornings and hanging out all week. Such a wonderful time. Becca, Justin, Dailey and Logan & Landon came to join us on Thursday night also. Nice to have them at camp for a few days. Hopefully next year they will join us all week! It was hard to come home for sure.
